Ceramic and pottery work are traditional Palestinian crafts dating back to approximately 5500 BC. In order to revive interest in these crafts, the ETVTC is offering a new curriculum in the field of ceramic and pottery design and creation. Our students learn how to select and prepare the various types of clay for modeling, forming, and throwing on a potter’s wheel. They then will have the opportunity to produce ceramic items using these techniques. After “green ware” pieces have dried, they can then be fired and glazed to produce finished products.
